In spring 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic changed nearly every part of daily life, including how customers could safely maintain and repair their vehicles.
Chapel Hill Tire responded by quickly introducing new ways for customers to get the car care they needed while minimizing in-person interaction.
In March 2020, we launched curbside service and free vehicle pickup and delivery. Curbside service allowed customers to drop off their vehicles without entering the lobby, while pickup and delivery gave customers the option to have their vehicles transported to and from Chapel Hill Tire for service.
We also used digital tools such as online appointment scheduling, service updates by text, and text-to-pay technology to make the process as simple and contact-free as possible.

Although curbside service and free pickup and delivery are no longer offered on a regular basis, the experience helped reinforce something that continues to guide us today: car care should be as convenient and straightforward as possible.
The pandemic accelerated the use of technology throughout the automotive service industry, and many of the tools customers became accustomed to during that period helped shape a more modern service experience. Online scheduling, digital communication, and easier ways to stay informed about vehicle service all became increasingly important parts of how customers interact with repair shops.
For Chapel Hill Tire, responding to COVID-19 was about more than introducing temporary services. It was about finding new ways to say yes to customers, adapt quickly when circumstances changed, and make necessary car care easier during an extraordinarily difficult time.
